善通寺「いろは会館」特別室 藍布の掛け軸/ A Hanging Scroll in Zentsuji Temple

四国八十八ヶ所霊場の第75番札所・善通寺さんの宿坊「いろは会館」の2部屋が、この度「特別室」としてリニューアルされました。その特別室には、四国各地のものづくりの品々が取り入れられていますが、特別室の一室にかけられた掛け軸に、一草の藍布をお使いいただきました。

Two rooms in “Iroha Kaikan,” a guesthouse of Zentsuji Temple, the 75th temple of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, have been renewed as “special rooms.” The rooms are decorated with crafts from all over Shikoku area, and Isso’s indigo fabric was used for the hanging scroll in one of the rooms.

今回の取り組みは、観光庁の事業の一環として、「遍路文化を四国工芸文化に繋げる」ことを目指されたもので、京都市の「ひらくと」さんが企画を進められました。一草で染めた生地を使って、京都の中村光雲堂・中村智和さんが掛け軸に仕立てる、その掛け軸を善通寺の宿坊内に掛けていただけるという、思ってもいなかったような貴重な機会をいただきました。

As a part of the Japan Tourism Agency’s project, this opportunity is planned by Hirakuto in Kyoto and aims to “link pilgrimage culture to Shikoku craft culture,” Now, a hanging scroll, made by Mr. Tomokazu Nakamura of Nakamura Koundo in Kyoto, using ISSO’s dyed fabric, is hung inside a guesthouse of Zentsuji Temple. We are so glad to be able to join this precious opportunity.

特別室は327室と328室がありますが、藍布を使った掛け軸は「328室」に掛けられています。お遍路巡りの折や、香川県にお立ち寄りの際は、ぜひ善通寺さんのいろは会館をご利用なさってみてください。

There are two special rooms, Room 327 and Room 328, and the hanging scroll made of indigo dyed fabric is hung in Room 328.
